CVSS v3.1 |
| The Erlang/OTP ssl TLS 1.2 (and earlier) and DTLS client does not verify that the cipher suite selected by the server in ServerHello was among the suites offered by the client in ClientHello. The client-side tls_handshake:hello/5 handler validates the negotiated protocol version and the downgrade sentinel but hands the server-chosen suite directly to ssl_handshake:handle_server_hello_extensions/9, which installs it without a membership check. The TLS 1.3 client path performs this check (per RFC 8446), so it is not affected.
An on-path attacker between the client and the intended server can respond with a ServerHello selecting an anonymous key exchange suite such as TLS_DH_anon_* or TLS_ECDH_anon_* that the client never offered. Anonymous suites do not require the server to present a certificate, so the entire verify_peer and cacerts configuration is bypassed: the attacker completes the handshake with its own ephemeral parameters, no certificate is validated, no hostname is checked, and ssl:connect returns {ok, Socket}. All subsequent application traffic is readable and modifiable by the attacker.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 29.0.4, OTP 28.5.0.4 and OTP 27.3.4.15, corresponding to ssl from 5.3.4 before 11.7.4, 11.6.0.4 and 11.2.12.11. |
| Improper Handling of Exceptional Conditions vulnerability in Erlang OTP erts (epmd) allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to permanently terminate the Erlang Port Mapper Daemon (epmd) via connection slot exhaustion.
The do_accept function in erts/epmd/src/epmd_srv.c calls epmd_cleanup_exit() when accept(2) returns EMFILE (per-process file descriptor limit reached) or ENFILE (system-wide file descriptor limit reached), rather than treating these as recoverable conditions. An attacker can exhaust epmd's file descriptor slots by holding many TCP connections open while periodically sending a single byte to reset the idle timeout, then causing accept(2) to return EMFILE, which kills the daemon. epmd has no per-source-IP connection cap, making the attack feasible from a single source.
On Debian/Ubuntu default packaging the impact is amplified: the systemd unit inherits a low file descriptor soft limit, and repeated daemon deaths trigger systemd's start-rate-limit, permanently failing both epmd.service and epmd.socket and requiring manual operator intervention to recover.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 29.0.4, OTP 28.5.0.4 and OTP 27.3.4.15. |
| Symfony is a PHP framework for web and console applications and a set of reusable PHP components. Prior to 7.4.13 and 8.0.13, MailomatRequestParser::validateSignature() parsed X-MOM-Webhook-Signature as algo=signature and passed the request-selected algorithm to hash_hmac(), allowing a signature algorithm downgrade instead of enforcing Mailomat's documented SHA-256 webhook signature. This issue is fixed in versions 7.4.13 and 8.0.13. |
| Hulumi is an open-source toolkit that ships secure-by-default cloud and platform infrastructure components for Pulumi. Prior to version 1.4.0, consumers running drift detection in CI / cron could see transient adapter failures silently cached as "all clear" — masking real attacks for up to six hours — or see ordinary provider-version churn falsely promoted to incident severity. Either way, the verdict source was unreliable for downstream incident workflows that gate on it. This issue has been patched in version 1.4.0. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: arm64: Bound used_lrs when flushing the pKVM hyp vCPU
flush_hyp_vcpu() copies the host vGIC state into the hyp's private vCPU
on every run. The vGIC list register save and restore use used_lrs as
their loop bound and expect it to stay within the number of implemented
list registers. While this is generally the case, flush_hyp_vcpu()
copies vgic_v3 verbatim and does not enforce this, so a value provided
by the host is used at EL2 to index vgic_lr[] and access ICH_LR<n>_EL2
(host -> EL2).
Fix by clamping used_lrs to the number of implemented list registers
after the copy, as the trusted path already does in
vgic_flush_lr_state(). The number of implemented list registers is
constant after init, so it is replicated once from
kvm_vgic_global_state.nr_lr into hyp_gicv3_nr_lr rather than read on
every entry. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: gadget: f_fs: Initialize epfile->in early to fix endpoint direction checks
When parsing endpoint descriptors, ffs_data_got_descs() generates the
eps_addrmap which contains the endpoint direction. However, epfile->in
was previously only populated in ffs_func_eps_enable() which executes
upon USB host connection. As a result, early userspace ioctls like
FUNCTIONFS_DMABUF_ATTACH that run before the host connects would see
epfile->in as 0, leading to incorrect DMA directions.
By moving the initialization to ffs_epfiles_create(), epfile->in is
accurate before userspace opens the endpoint files. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
USB: serial: digi_acceleport: fix hard lockup on disconnect
If submitting the OOB write urb fails persistently (e.g if the device is
being disconnected) the driver would loop indefinitely with interrupts
disabled.
Check for urb submission errors when sending OOB commands to avoid
hanging if, for example, open(), set_termios() or close() races with a
physical disconnect.
This is issue was flagged by Sashiko when reviewing an unrelated change
to the driver. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: af_key: initialize alg_key_len for IPComp states
pfkey_msg2xfrm_state() handles the IPComp (SADB_X_SATYPE_IPCOMP) case by
allocating x->calg and copying only the algorithm name:
x->calg = kmalloc_obj(*x->calg);
if (!x->calg) {
err = -ENOMEM;
goto out;
}
strcpy(x->calg->alg_name, a->name);
x->props.calgo = sa->sadb_sa_encrypt;
Unlike the authentication (x->aalg) and encryption (x->ealg) branches of
the same function, the compression branch never initializes
calg->alg_key_len. IPComp carries no key and the allocation only
reserves sizeof(struct xfrm_algo) (i.e. no room for a key), so the field
is left containing uninitialized slab data.
calg->alg_key_len is later used as a length by xfrm_algo_clone() when an
IPComp state is cloned during XFRM_MSG_MIGRATE:
xfrm_state_migrate()
xfrm_state_clone_and_setup()
x->calg = xfrm_algo_clone(orig->calg);
kmemdup(orig, xfrm_alg_len(orig));
where xfrm_alg_len() returns sizeof(*alg) + (alg_key_len + 7) / 8. With
a non-zero garbage alg_key_len, kmemdup() reads past the end of the
68-byte calg object. Adding an IPComp SA via PF_KEY and then migrating
it triggers (net-next, KASAN, init_on_alloc=0):

The buggy address belongs to the object at ff11000025a74980
which belongs to the cache kmalloc-96 of size 96
The buggy address is located 0 bytes inside of
allocated 68-byte region [ff11000025a74980, ff11000025a749c4)
Depending on the uninitialized value the same field can instead request
an oversized kmemdup() allocation and make the migration clone fail.
The XFRM netlink path is not affected: verify_one_alg() rejects an
XFRMA_ALG_COMP attribute shorter than xfrm_alg_len(), so a calg added via
XFRM_MSG_NEWSA is always self-consistent.
Initialize calg->alg_key_len to 0, matching the aalg/ealg branches. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rtw89: correct drop logic for malformed AMPDU frames
The previous commit aims to fix issue caused by malformed AMPDU frames.
But the drop logic fails to deal with the first AMPDU packet paired with
certain range of sequence number, and leads to unexpected packet drop.
It is more likely to encounter this failure when there are busy traffic
during rekey process and could lead to disconnection from the AP.
Fix this by adding a initial state judgement and only reset status
during pairwise rekey. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drivers/base/memory: set mem->altmap after successful device registration
If __add_memory_block() fails at xa_store() (under memory pressure for
example), device_unregister() is called, which eventually triggers
memory_block_release() with mem->altmap still set, causing a
WARN_ON(mem->altmap). This was triggered by modifying virtio-mem driver.
Fix this by delaying the assignment of mem->altmap until after
__add_memory_block() has succeeded. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
MIPS: smp: report dying CPU to RCU in stop_this_cpu()
smp_send_stop() parks all secondary CPUs in stop_this_cpu(). The function
marks the CPU offline for the scheduler via set_cpu_online(false) but
never informs RCU, so RCU keeps expecting a quiescent state from CPUs
that are now spinning forever with interrupts disabled.
As long as nothing waits for an RCU grace period after smp_send_stop()
this is harmless, which is why it went unnoticed. Since commit
91840be8f710 ("irq_work: Fix use-after-free in irq_work_single() on PREEMPT_RT")
however, irq_work_sync() calls synchronize_rcu() on architectures without
an irq_work self-IPI, i.e. where arch_irq_work_has_interrupt() returns
false. That is the asm-generic default used by MIPS. Any irq_work_sync()
issued in the reboot/shutdown path after smp_send_stop() then blocks on
a grace period that can never complete, hanging the reboot:
WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 15 at kernel/irq_work.c:144 irq_work_queue_on
...
rcu: INFO: rcu_sched detected stalls on CPUs/tasks:
rcu: Offline CPU 1 blocking current GP.
rcu: Offline CPU 2 blocking current GP.
rcu: Offline CPU 3 blocking current GP.
This issue was noticed on several Realtek MIPS switch SoCs (MIPS
interAptiv) and came up during kernel bump downstream in OpenWrt from
6.18.33 to 6.18.34, after the backport of the patch to the 6.18 stable
branch. The patch also has been backported all the way back to 6.1.
Call rcutree_report_cpu_dead() once interrupts are disabled, mirroring the
generic CPU-hotplug offline path, so RCU stops waiting on the parked CPUs
and grace periods can still complete. MIPS shuts down all CPUs here
without going through the CPU-hotplug mechanism, so this report is not
otherwise issued. Reporting a dying CPU to RCU outside the regular hotplug
offline path is not unprecedented: arm64 does the same in cpu_die_early().
There it is an exception for a CPU that was coming online and is aborting
bringup, rather than the default shutdown action as on MIPS. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86: Unconditionally recompute CR8 intercept on PPR update
The TPR_THRESHOLD field in the VMCS is used by VMX to induce VM exits
when the guest's virtual TPR falls under the specified threshold,
allowing KVM to inject previously masked interrupts.
KVM handles these VM exits in handle_tpr_below_threshold().
Commit eb90f3417a0c ("KVM: vmx: speed up TPR below threshold vmexits")
optimized this function by calling apic_update_ppr() instead of raising
KVM_REQ_EVENT. apic_update_ppr() then raises KVM_REQ_EVENT if there is
a pending, deliverable interrupt.
However, if there are no new interrupts pending, apic_update_ppr() does
not issue the request. Thus, kvm_lapic_update_cr8_intercept() and
vmx_update_cr8_intercept() are not called before VM entry, which results
in a high, stale TPR_THRESHOLD. This is problematic due to the following
sentence in 28.2.1.1 "VM-Execution Control Fields" in the SDM:
The following check is performed if the “use TPR shadow” VM-execution
control is 1 and the “virtualize APIC accesses” and “virtual-interrupt
delivery” VM-execution controls are both 0: the value of bits 3:0 of
the TPR threshold VM-execution control field should not be greater
than the value of bits 7:4 of VTPR.
This error condition is typically not observed when KVM runs on a bare
metal system because modern processors support APICv, which enables
virtual-interrupt delivery, and which KVM uses when possible. This
causes the processor to no longer generate TPR-below-threshold exits
and to no longer check TPR_THRESHOLD on entry. However, when running
on older platforms, or under nested virtualization on a hypervisor that
does not support virtual-interrupt delivery and enforces this check
(like Hyper-V) this can cause a VM entry failure with hardware error
0x7, as seen in [1].
Call kvm_lapic_update_cr8_intercept() if apic_update_ppr() does not
find a deliverable interrupt (and thus does not raise KVM_REQ_EVENT).
Remove calls to kvm_lapic_update_cr8_intercept() on paths that end up in
apic_update_ppr(), as they now become redundant. This ensures that any
path that updates the guest's PPR also figures out if KVM needs to wait
for a TPR change (using TPR_THRESHOLD on VMX or CR8 intercepts on SVM). |
| DOMPurify through 3.3.3 fails to sanitize DOM elements passed via IN_PLACE mode when the element originates from a different window/realm (e.g., an iframe's contentDocument). A cross-realm instanceof check in the private _isNode() function returns false for foreign-realm nodes, causing DOMPurify to stringify the element (yielding '[object HTMLDivElement]'), silently reset IN_PLACE to false, and return the unsanitized element unchanged with any XSS payloads intact. |
| A flaw was found in dbus-broker. When the process file-descriptor limit is reached, EMFILE/ENFILE errors during peer setup (notably SO_PEERPIDFD) are handled as fatal failures, causing the broker to exit. A local attacker who can open many connections to the user session bus can trigger this and deny service to the desktop session. Flatpak applications can reach the host session bus through the dbus proxy. |
| SurrealDB before 1.5.5 (and 2.0.0-beta before 2.0.0-beta.3) accepts an arbitrary object in the signin and signup operations of the RPC API without recursively validating it for non-computed values. When a record access method defines a SIGNIN or SIGNUP query and the RPC API is exposed to untrusted users, an unauthenticated attacker can encode a binary object containing a subquery using the bincode serialization format and supply it in place of credentials. The subquery is then executed within the database owner's SIGNIN/SIGNUP query under a system user session with the editor role, allowing the attacker to select, create, update, and delete non-IAM resources (though not view the query results directly, and not affect IAM resources, which require the owner role). |
| SurrealDB versions before 3.1.0 contain a denial of service vulnerability where malicious LIVE queries with WHERE clauses that evaluate to errors cause all CREATE, UPDATE, and DELETE operations on the watched table to fail. An authenticated user with only select permission can prevent write operations on a table for any user, including root, by registering a LIVE query that triggers evaluation errors until the query is killed or the session ends. |
| In Eclipse OpenJ9 versions up to 0.60, when executing class files where a previously concrete superclass method has been recompiled as abstract, execution is incorrectly delegated to an interface default method. |
| With NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.1, applications using libunbound and configured with 'unwanted-reply-threshold', could eventually be abruptly terminated if the threshold is reached and libunbound needs to call 'libworker_alloc_cleanup' since the function is absent from the function call allow list. When an application using libunbound sets 'unwanted-reply-threshold' to any non-zero value and the iterator queries an authoritative that replies with enough wrong-transaction-ID UDP datagrams to cross the threshold, the 'libworker_alloc_cleanup' will eventually be called. Since the function is absent from the function call allow list, this leads to a fatal exit of libunbound and eventual termination of the embedding application.Unbound itself is not affected since its relevant function 'worker_alloc_cleanup' is registed in the allow list and proceeds to perform the documented cache flush. |
| pgjdbc is an open source postgresql JDBC Driver. In releases 42.7.4 through 42.7.11, channelBinding=require connections can be silently downgraded from SCRAM-SHA-256-PLUS with channel binding to plain SCRAM-SHA-256 without it, losing the man-in-the-middle protection the setting is meant to guarantee. An attacker who can intercept the TLS connection can trigger the downgrade with a certificate whose signature algorithm has no tls-server-end-point channel-binding hash, because the bundled com.ongres.scram:scram-client returns an empty byte array instead of failing and pgJDBC ScramAuthenticator checks only that the server advertised a PLUS mechanism, without rejecting the empty binding or checking that the negotiated mechanism uses channel binding. This issue is fixed in version 42.7.12. |
| RustCrypto CMOV provides conditional move CPU intrinsics which are guaranteed on major platforms to execute in constant-time and not be rewritten as branches by the compiler. From 0.1.1 until 0.5.4, the aarch64 implementations of Cmov and CmovEq in cmov/src/backends/aarch64.rs assume high bits are zero-extended when loading values smaller than a register, so set high bits such as [8..] in a Cmov selector or [16..] of self or other in the u16 and i16 CmovEq implementations can cause left.cmovz(&right, condition) to produce incorrect output. This issue is fixed in version 0.5.4. |
